SPXFlow Webinar: Johnson Pump Solutions for Industrial Applications
We recently held a joint webinar with SPXFlow on Johnson Pump Solutions for Industrial Applications to share on the features and advantages of Centrifugal Pump (which comprises of CombiChem, CombiNorm, Self-priming pumps) and Gear Pump. These topics were interesting for our customers from Food and Beverage (including FMCG), Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Lubricant, Mining, Palm Oil, Water Treatment, and EPC contractors. Among the questions discussed were about joint coupling shaft if it can be interchanged with other model without affecting pump performance.
The reply was to take note of the Tork value by ensuring correct calculation of the Tork value when replacing coupling. When asked about maximum running of bearing, Johnson pump can run 24/7 with no issues for 17,500 hours, however, users are recommended to check on the pump manual on the specific lubrication oil and ensure this is used. If other types of lubrication oil is used, then the bearing life will be reduced and if the manual is followed, the bearing life will have long life and will have no problems. For the FRF type, our customer asked if the drain point is available to remove liquid incase the pump is not in operation, the answer is yes, with Johnson Pump it is easy to remove the plug and remove liquid and clean. Another question was pump efficiency for open impeller type, since moving of slurry does not require high efficiency, hence closed impeller is not required and a half open impeller will function well.
